Google Sandbox getting out
The dreaded Google Sandbox – does it really exist?
I’ve heard conflicting stories but according to Matt Cutts of Google it does exist.
Google states their sandbox is a ‘probationary period’ given to a new website. Even if your website has a high PageRank, lots of quality backlinks and content it will not rank very highly in search engines. This is only considered true for new websites.
If you’re website has been around for about 6+ months and you’re still not rising in the search engine result pages then you need serious help in SEO!
I’ve found the following criteria useful when trying to exit the Google Sandbox as soon as possible!
1. I posted new, fresh content every day
2. I interlinked my pages so that if Google found just one of my website pages, it would automatically find the rest because I interlinked them!
3. I placed a nofollow link attribute on all irrelevant external AND internal links. This is important because you have no control over the search engine robots but at least you can guide them.
4. Obtain high quality backlinks on your website.
5. Stop changing the meta tag title or description on your pages! Just like the content you need to make sure everything is perfect before publishing it live.
6. Buy a domain contains the keywords or buy an old domain. It works a treat!
